Online Tutorial™Each lesson is live and taught by a tutor via Zoom
Includes a pre-course Zoom meeting between the tutor and the student for level assessment and needs analysis.
Before the start of the course, the student is sent an assignment to be completed before the course and a short reading list.
All students who successfully complete this course are eligible for a Course Certificate. Completion consists of submitting the final course assignment. Certificates are sent by email after the end of the course.
Students are set two pieces of work. The first is due halfway through the course. This does not count towards the final outcome but preparing for it helps the student to prepare for the assessed piece of work at the end of the course.

This course aims to provide students with strong communication skills to enable them to interact fully in professional or academic situations.

This course gives the learner the advanced communication skills needed to be able to present arguments with clarity and inspire others, whether they are colleagues or an external audience.
The tutor guides the learner through listening, reading and editing exercises which develop collaboration skills for achieving consensus which gives professional relationships the best opportunity to thrive and which encourages high performance.

Course Content
Module 1 - Analysis of information
- Speed reading skills
- Cross referencing facts
- Make a summary
Module 2 - Speak without a script
- Give a talk for 5 minutes on an unfamiliar topic
- Take questions and lead the subsequent discussion
Module 3 - Problem-solving project
- A group task which requires the skills of project management, collaboration, communication and time-management
Module 4 - Problem-solving project
- A group task which requires the skills of project management, collaboration, communication and time-management
Module 5 - Lead a content analysis discussion
- Manage a discussion about a piece of text, audio or video
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, the student is expected to be able to:
- Give a short, unscripted talk
- Project-manage a workplace project or academic project
- Lead a discussion or meeting
- Understand and extract information from a variety of sources under timed conditions

Lessons can be taken at any time from Monday - Saturday 09.00 to 18.00 GMT
